How to Get Keys in RIVALS (and What to Spend Them On)

Keys are the main currency in RIVALS. You spend them on new weapons, and on most things in the shop: cases, wraps, charms and more. You never have to pay for them, but you do have to know where the free ones are. This guide lists every way to earn Keys that I could confirm for Update 22 (September 2026), then which weapons are worth your first Keys.

What Keys are for

The Shop shows your Keys at the top, next to your Skin Tickets. Almost everything in it is priced in Keys:

Every way to get free Keys

1. Like the game (3 Keys, once)

The easiest Keys in the game. Open Shop → More → Codes and scroll down. Above the code box there's a list of free rewards. Like the game (RIVALS) gives 3 Keys once your like is verified, which can take a little while. Joining the Nosniy Games group on the same screen gives a charm.

2. Codes (1 to 5 Keys each)

RIVALS codes usually give 1 to 5 Keys each. The developers post a new FREE code with a number (like FREE199) every time the game hits another like milestone, and each one gives 3 Keys. There are also event and community codes.

Before the code box works, the game asks you to verify: join the Nosniy Games group, follow the developers, and enter your username in the Rewards menu. The RIVALS codes page has every working code and the full redeem steps with screenshots.

3. Weapon contracts

Every weapon has a contract with milestones. The first ones are quick, like getting 5 eliminations or playing 5 minutes with that weapon, and each early milestone gives 1 Key. Using a new weapon for a few rounds is some of the cheapest Keys you can get.

4. Tasks

RIVALS gives you tasks to do in normal matches, like playing duels, getting eliminations and winning. There are one-time beginner tasks, daily tasks, and bonus tasks, and they pay a few Keys each. Update 22 reworked them into task streaks, so check the Tasks menu in-game for the exact rewards.

5. The Prize Wheel

Update 22 added a Prize Wheel you can spin up to 5 times a week. It can land on Keys, Skin Tickets or skins.

6. Login rewards and the Season Pass

Logging in regularly gives rewards every few days, and the free track of the Season Pass has some Key rewards on it too. You move up the pass by playing and winning rounds.

Buying Keys

The Keys tab in the Shop also sells Keys. You don't need to buy any: the free ways above are enough to unlock a full starter loadout.

What to spend your first Keys on

You start with a free loadout: the Assault Rifle, Handgun, Fists and a Grenade. The Assault Rifle is a good all-round weapon, so you don't need to replace it quickly. The first Keys go furthest on cheap weapons that cover what the starting kit is bad at:

That's a full close-range setup for about 60 Keys. Weapons that are hard to use well, like the Sniper or Minigun, are better saved for later.

Other currencies (don't mix them up)

Quick checklist

  1. Like the game and claim the 3 Keys under Shop → More → Codes.
  2. Verify, then redeem every working RIVALS code.
  3. Play a few rounds with each free weapon to finish the first contract milestones.
  4. Do your daily and bonus tasks, and spin the Prize Wheel each week.
  5. Spend your first Keys on the Uzi, Knife or Shotgun.

Prices and rewards change with updates. This guide is based on Update 22 and my own screenshots from September 2026. If something's different in your game, let me know.
